Schedule PREP Advising

Group advising workshops for first-year students (spring) and second-year students (fall and spring) will be held virtually during the first part of each semester.  These workshops will provide up-to-date and important information about curriculum, policies, deadlines and College of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences’ current events.  Participation in one workshop each term is mandatory for all students, including student athletes and honor students. Dates and times will be announced in various ways, including Pharmacy classes, posted on the hallway monitors, and announced in the weekly CPPS Newsletter.

Student Athletes

  • Student athletes must schedule an individual appointment with Deb Sobczak each semester to review NCAA eligibility requirements and obtain signed approval form.

Honor Students

  • Honor students will be notified of their assigned Honors faculty advisor via email.  At least one individual appointment with their honors faculty advisor is required each semester.
  • Honor students are also able to meet with Deb or Jing as frequently as they want. (Please refer to the information above)

Professional Division Students

The professional division advising is conducted by the Director of Student Services for the Professional Division and faculty advisors.

  • Jing Meyer (also shows as Jinghua Deng), is the Director of Student Services for the Professional Division. She serves as the primary academic advisor for all professional division students.
  • Professional division students will have an assigned faculty advisor in their major. Professional division honors students will retain the same advisor as they had in the pre-pharmacy years, if their faculty advisor is in their major. If not, they will be reassigned to an honors faculty advisor in their major. Dual major students will have a faculty advisor from each major.
  • PharmD students are required to meet with their faculty advisor every semester. P1 BSPS students are required to meet with their faculty advisor at least once during the P1 year to be cleared for fall P2 class registration. Students will be informed of their faculty advisor contact information.
  • Appointments with Jing Meyer are welcome and can be made by calling 419.383.1904 or online. When making an appointment, you will be asked to give your name, Rocket ID number, phone number and reason for the appointment. Most appointments are scheduled for 30-minute intervals.
  • Mandatory group advising workshops for different levels of professional division students will be held during the academic year. Students will be notified of time and location via email.
