Welcome from the Chair

Welcome to the Department of Cell and Cancer Biology at The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. As one of the four basic science departments, Cell & Cancer Biology is experiencing an exciting phase of growth aligned with the strategic plans of the College to invest in cancer research and improve cancer care with precision treatment through collaboration with the Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center and ProMedica. Our faculty members are strongly committed to advancing the frontiers of cancer research and treatment through high quality basic/translational research and education of the next generation of physicians and scientists.

The research interests of our faculty are broad, spanning from tumorigenesis and metastasis to drug discovery and precision medicine, from lipid metabolism and signal transduction to chromatin remodeling and DNA repair. All Cancer Biology faculty members participate in medical education by providing formal classroom instruction and laboratory research experience. Our faculty members teach and mentor M.D./Ph.D. students and Ph.D. students who are admitted to the Cell & Cancer Biology track in the Biomedical Science Graduate Program. Cell & Cancer Biology faculty members also serve the scientific community at all levels as members of editorial and advisory boards, study sections, and other various committees.

The Department of Cell and Cancer Biology takes pride in providing a collegial and supportive environment for our students, faculty mentors, and staff members as a caring and productive team. We welcome any interested and enthusiastic individuals to join this team. Thank you for visiting our website.
