Lorain Program

Whether you are just starting college or would like to begin a new career, Lorain County Community College (LCCC) and its University Partnership are the best value in higher education.

The EECS department has a partnership program with LCCC for Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Engineering. This partnership program includes a combination of traditional on-campus courses and real-time interactive video distance learning (DL) courses.

Did you know that you can get the same EECS degree from The University of Toledo in Lorain County?

  • Students attend classes on the campus of Lorain County Community College (LCCC) in North Ridgeville, Ohio.
  • Students enroll in the same EECS courses as their counterparts in Toledo.
    • Most EECS courses are offered on-site in North Ridgeville.
    • Other EECS courses are offered as real-time interactive video distance learning (DL).
    • Support courses (math, science, etc.) are taught by LCCC faculty.

Why go through the Partnership with LCCC rather than go to the main campus at Toledo?

  • Cost savings
    • Full scholarships are available for direct from High School Students
    • CSE Scholarship: Details here
    • STEM Scholarship: Details here
    • Scholarships for current and transfer students: Details here
    • Approximately 50% of the courses are billed at the LCCC tuition rate (see shaded courses on flowchart)
    • Toledo courses (prefixed with EECS) are billed at the Toledo tuition rate (subject to change)
    • Mandatory Co-Op program (earn as you learn)
    • Opportunity to graduate debt-free!
  • Personalized learning experience
    • Classes are generally smaller than on the Toledo campus
    • 24/7 lab available for EECS students only
    • Students and on-campus faculty work together closely
  • Convenience
    • Live at home while attending classes full time
    • This is NOT an online degree program, students must attend in the classroom
    • Free Parking, Easy access to LCCC via major interstates
    • Chipotle, Dunkin Donuts, Panera and Starbucks right next door!

Students are admitted and enrolled both at LCCC and the University of Toledo. This program offers Lorain County and surrounding area students (who would not otherwise be able to attend the University of Toledo) the opportunity to achieve a UT Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering concurrent with an LCCC Associate of Science Degree.

Full scholarship opportunities exist for those who qualify. For additional information please contact Adrienne Aguilar, the CSE Program Manager at LCCC.
