The EECS department offers degree programs that augment the liberal education expected by all students and impart a basic understanding of electrical engineering and computer science concepts built on a foundation of physical science, mathematics, computing and technology. The department provides each student the opportunity to succeed and thrive so that they graduate with the knowledge and abilities mentioned.

EECS students are highly committed to their studies yet somehow find time to participate in a wide variety of activities that help them make friends, serve their community, exercise, develop their talents and take advantage of the many cultural and entertainment events. EECS students have many opportunities for connecting with others, developing their leadership abilities, and serving their community through their participation in student societies.
