Proxy Access

Sharing access to your student account information is simple with UToledo Proxy.

Students can give a parent or other guest access to the services below.

Student Steps

  1. Initiate the process by following the Proxy access link in the myUT portal.
  2. Select the Proxy Management tile button.
  3. Select Add New to create a new proxy profile for your parent or guest. 
  4. Enter their name, email address, and select proxy user as the relationship.
  5. The start and end date for how long the proxy should have access to your information will pre-populate, however these dates can be modified.
  6. In the authorizations section, select the options you would like to grant access for your proxy to view. You can choose some or all of the options listed above, and these services can be edited, deleted, or revoked at any time.
  7. Submit the changes. A message will display indicating changes have been saved.
  8. Instruct your proxy to check their email to complete the process.

Parent/Guest Steps

Once the student steps have been completed, you will receive a series of three emails with instructions for setting up your proxy account.

  1. Check your email for a communication from proxy@utoledo.edu.
  2. The emails will include a link to access the proxy system, along with a temporary password. You will use your email address as your username when creating and logging into your account.
  3. Follow the link from your email, and enter your email address exactly as it appears in the original proxy access communication.
  4. After entering your email address, you will add your tempory password. You can find your temporary password in the email "New Proxy Identity." Next, you will enter and verify a new password of your choosing. Submit the form.
  5. After submitting the form, you will be directed to the login screen. Use your email address as the username and your new password.
  6. Once logged in, the home screen will display your personal information and your student's name. If multiple students have assigned you as their proxy, you will see them listed here.
  7. From the selection menu next to your student's name, you can choose the area you would like to view (Student Profile, Student Grades, etc.). Access to these areas is based on the authorizations granted by your student. Check with your student if you have questions about your permissions.
  8. Use the UT Shield in the upperleft corner to navigate back to the home menu. Use the person icon in the upperright corner to logout.
