As part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the College of Arts and Sciences, English Department alumna and academic adviser in the college office, Melanie Dusseau, will read from her debut collection of poetry, The Body Tries Again. Poet Denise Duhamel calls Dusseau’s writing, “enchantingly raucous,” and “a tour de female force, a cunningly confrontational and irresistibly comic approach to the complications of gender.” National Book Critics Circle Award winner Rodney Jones adds: “Think of her setting as a bowling alley, and her muse as Darwin. Dusseau is steel-tough, book-smart, and street-ready, and everywhere in The Body Tries Again, she carries a sense of uncompromising delight.”
Please join us at 3PM in the Canaday Center, 5th floor of Carlson Library on Thursday, February 25th for an afternoon of poetry. Free and open to the public. More details about the book here: http://www.word-press.com/dusseau.html
