On Monday, July 20, 2009, at 8:30 PM, we will celebrate the International Year of
Astronomy and the 40th anniversary of Apollo XI and mankind’s first steps on the Moon, with a special, free, presentation of To the Moon and Back with observing to follow.
Following the Friday evening planetarium programs, audiences can observe at Brooks Observatory atop McMaster Hall, depending on sky conditions. Patrons wishing to observe without attending the program can meet up with the audience in the lobby of Ritter Planetarium immediately after the evening program ends, at about 8:15 pm (9:15 pm during summer months).
After Saturday afternoon programs, audiences can observe the Sun with the planetarium's new Sunspotter telescope, again weather permitting.
