WOMEN'S AND GENDER STUDIES AT UT
The University of Toledo offers programs in Women’s and Gender Studies for both majors and minors. Courses are taught by faculty known both nationally and internationally for their work not only in Women’s and Gender Studies, but also in other disciplines such as Africana Studies, Art, Art History, Communications, Criminal Justice, Cultural Studies, Disability Studies, Education, Economics, Environmental Studies, Film, History, International Studies, Law, Law and Social Thought, Literary Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Social Work.
Our students learn many traditional and non-traditional methods and practices to gain knowledge. They work with an adviser to find a curriculum that fits their individual interests and career goals. Also, there are many resources and services available to Women's and Gender Studies students. The Catharine Eberly Center for Women holds informative events and brown-bag lunches for students and faculty to attend. And the Carlson Library's Canaday Center's Women's Collection includes multiple works by women writers. Students may also take advantage of other exciting educational opportunities which include study abroad, service learning, co-ops, internships, externships, and fieldwork.
