COBIVILLE captures Homecoming Wild Wild Midwest theme

Students seeking assistance at the College of Business and Innovation (COBI) Office of Student Retention and Academic Success on Friday, October 21 found themselves transported back to the Wild Wild Midwest legendary town of COBIVILLE, the office’s entry into the annual UT Homecoming theme office decorating contest.

With everything from a stagecoach stop to a saloon, general store to a jail - - and currency depicting the image of COBI Dean Thomas Gutteridge - - the offices beamed hometown pride fitting UT’s homecoming theme of Wild Wild Midwest: Sweet Home Toledo.

“We’ve never entered the UT Homecoming office decorating contest before, but decided we could display our Rocket pride and have a little fun for the students we serve by getting into it this year,” explained Barb Robertson, Director of Student Retention and Academic Success.

“Putting it together was a real team effort,” she added. “We did it a little at a time during the week, and of course we never missed a beat in assisting our students, who commented that they thought it was pretty cool.”

Who wouldn’t think it was cool having the chance to watch episodes of Bonanza while waiting for your academic advising?
