Savage & Associates Complex

Physically connected to Stranahan Hall in the heart of the UToledo Campus, the Savage & Associates Complex for Business Learning and Engagement will function as the intellectual hub for the college’s outreach and business partnership activities. The complex will offer Neff College of Business and Innovation faculty, staff and students, as well as the business community, a cutting-edge learning environment. The new facility will be home to the college’s academic programs (BBA, BAOT, BSIT, MS, MBA and Ph.D.) as well as various outreach programs that integrate disciplinary expertise and learning focus with the business and economic needs of targeted industry/functional sectors. 

Among some of the anticipated features of the complex are:

  • Approximately 54,000 square feet
  • 10 state-of-the-art classrooms, ranging in capacity from 30 to 300 students
  • Five breakout rooms, each with video conferencing capabilities 
  • Six to eight conference rooms seating 15-20 people each 
  • Fully networked, the building will feature the latest technologies in audiovisual equipment and distance learning capabilities 
  • Each of the teaching spaces will feature wireless technology so faculty and students alike can utilize laptop computers 
  • Five action learning labs, potentially including a computer information technology/e-commerce lab, a networked financial trading room, an entrepreneurship lab, a professional sales lab and a leadership lab 
  • Student Support Offices, including student advising and a Career Planning Center 
  • Suites for the Executive Center for Global Competitiveness, Center for Family Business, Center for Technological Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Edward H. Schmidt School of Professional Sales  
  • Office space and two lounges/common areas 
  • A forty seat board room with attached kitchen for student/business interaction and special functions 
  • This complex will cost (facility, furnishings and technology) approximately $15.4 million, of which approximately $2 million is being raised from private and corporate investors and the remainder through state support 
  • There are a variety of giving and naming opportunities still remaining for donors willing to invest in this tangible commitment to move the UToledo business school to national recognition among its public metropolitan peers
