Scott L. Scarborough joined the University of Toledo as Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration in December 2007, bringing 21 years of experience in accounting, auditing, and business affairs experience to the post.

As the university’s chief financial officer, Dr. Scarborough is responsible for the overall financial health of the university’s main campus and health science campus.  Reporting to Dr. Scarborough are the university’s finance and administrative functions including treasury and accounting, purchasing, budgeting, internal audit, facility operations, auxiliary enterprises, and information technology.  The Sr. Vice President for Finance and Administration is a member of the university’s executive leadership team. 

Prior to joining the University of Toledo, Dr. Scarborough was Executive Vice President at DePaul University, the nation's largest Catholic university.  Prior to joining DePaul, Dr. Scarborough served as Chief Executive Officer at the Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Company, an investment management and custody services company that managed over $30 billion of short-term and endowed funds belonging to public entities in the state of Texas.

For more than 10 years, Dr. Scarborough worked in higher education within the University of Texas System.  For five years, Dr. Scarborough served as Vice President for Business Affairs at the University of Texas at Tyler.  Early in Dr. Scarborough's career, he worked in public accounting, internal auditing and employee group insurance administration.

Dr. Scarborough holds an accounting degree from the University of Texas at Austin, an MBA from the University of Texas at Tyler, and a Ph.D. in strategic management from the University of Texas at Arlington.  He is also a certified public accountant.
