Barb Klett was divorced with 6 children when she came through the Project Succeed
Program, at the Eberly Center for Women, in 1992. She had plenty of
self-doubt and little self-esteem. Regarding going back to school after more than
20 years she said, "I asked myself- could I do it?" Though scared to
begin, she tried and she succeeded! She wore her cap and gown at the December 1996
graduation from the University of Toledo's Community and Technical
College with a degree in Administrative Office Skills, and she will be starting her
Bachelor's program this January. She works full-time in Dean
Edwards Office at the Scott Park Campus. Barb says "Project Succeed gave me confidence."
She recently told our latest Project Succeed class "Don't
give up. You have to think about yourself, and take care of YOU, because someday your
children will be gone." Indeed, she has been a good example for
her children, by working hard to better herself. Barb said "I showed them that Mom
didn't stay at the bottom. I got on with my life." Now, her adult
son has enrolled at UT. Project Succeed can touch MANY lives.
