Gandhi Peace Lecture, October 2008
Committee cosponsored Dr. George A. Lopez from the University of Notre Dame to discuss
international peace and the state of violence and coercion.

Disability Film Screening and Discussion, November 2008
Committee cosponsored a film screening of “Darius Goes West” and discussion concerning
disabilities and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Darius along with film crew to documented
the event on November 16. Ten DVDs were purchased and given to both libraries and
to key administrators to promote awareness.

The Committee, in collaboration with Student Affairs, sponsored a luncheon for the
MLK Dinner guest that provided an avenue for students to interact with the speakers.
