Chris has been an instructional designer with UT Online since February 2014. He has helped to advance online education at UT by working directly with faculty to design and develop some of the first courses to receive Quality Matters (QM) certification. He was also instrumental in developing UT’s first two fully online science laboratory courses for the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

Prior to joining UT, Chris spent nine years in the K-12 classroom teaching architecture and engineering in his home state of North Carolina. In 2009 he became a National Board Certified teacher in the areas of Career and Technical Education (CTE). Chris earned a B.S. in Industrial Design from Appalachian State University in 1999 and a M.S. in Instructional Technology from East Carolina University in 2012.

In his spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, playing and recording music in his home studio, and watching sports, especially Duke basketball. He currently resides in Ottawa Hills with his wife and two children.
