Robert R. Buell Memorial Achievement Award (1 award)
Presented to a graduate student in any college who best exemplifies scholarly excellence in the physical and biological sciences, has maintained a genuine interest in the social sciences and the humanities, and plans a career in education. One applicant will receive a certificate plus a cash award. The amount varies each year depending upon available funds, averaging $1,000. - Application will be available in January 2010 -
The Graduate Opportunity Assistantship Program (GOAP) seeks to ensure that adequate funding opportunities exist for all students, and specifically those who have overcome significant educational and personal challenges to pursue higher education but possess the skill, leadership and ability to make a significant impact in their chosen field. -the application for this award is currently open for Spring Applicants Only.
Presented to a graduate student with an excellent academic record in the field of English or Education. One applicant will receive a certificate plus a cash award. The amount varies each year depending upon available funds, ranging from $350 to $500. - Application will be available in January 2010 -
This award is available to students applying for admission to a Masters or Doctoral program and who participated in an undergraduate Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement program.
This award is available to graduate students who are regularly admitted to a degree program (excluding EMBA, Doctor of Pharmacy, M.D. program, MSBS-Medical Sciences program, and Physician Assistant program) entering any semester, effective fall 2005 (effective fall 2007 for HSC students) from the following Michigan counties: Hillsdale, Lenawee, Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne. This award does not require an application. This award is not stackable with any other scholarship, award, or GA/TA award.
Sister Cities Award
This award is available to students entering any semester, effective fall 2005, and does not require an application. This award is not stackable with any other scholarship, award, or GA/TA award.
Primarily for entering Ph.D. students and those early in their Ph.D. program who have exceptional academic records. It is the highest student award the College of Graduate Studies makes and provides a stipend for the academic year at the doctoral student level by each departmental program, plus remission of instructional fees, out-of-state surcharge, general fees, student legal fee and an insurance subsidy for UT student health insurance. May be renewed up to three years provided the student maintains an outstanding academic record and makes adequate progress toward the degree. - Application will be available in January 2010 -
Presented to a graduate student to assist in research for the thesis, project or dissertation and further the student’s professional development. One applicant will receive a certificate plus a cash award. The amount varies each year depending upon available funds, averaging $300. - Application will be available in January 2010 -
