Professor Lynne Chapman teaches course content that includes introducing occupational therapy’s role and responsibilities as part of the interprofessional team, conditions common to OT practice, adult neurorehabilitation, mental health and advocacy. Professor Chapman has a strong background in clinical skills and interest in clinical research in the areas of transitional work and OT’s role in community mental health. Professor Chapman teaches course content on treatment interventions in both early and late stage recovery and mentors students throughout their capstone experience and the development of a continuing education course. She is a licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor and is interested in substance abuse disorders as they relate to occupational therapy. She has participated in collecting data and providing OT treatment interventions as part of a falls prevention study. She is a certified instructor and is responsible for scheduling and teaching Fieldwork Clinical Education Certificate courses in the midwest for the American Occupational Therapy Association.
