PGY1 Managed Care Focused Residency Program, ASHP-accreditation candidate
The ambulatory care/community based PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at the University of Toledo Medical Center is a concentrated 12-month, full time program designed to give residents ample practice in ambulatory care settings with a focus on managed care aspects. Residents will develop into independent clinical pharmacists and build communication skills and relationships with patients. An extensive teaching certificate program is offered which provides practice in small group instruction, experiential education, and didactic lectures. Experiences and rotations will be offered in leadership, managed care, clinical programs, practice management, transitions of care, and research.

This residency will help the resident gain strong clinical skills and build the resident as a leader. This residency is flexible and will be molded to fit the interests and needs of each individual resident. Experiences are wide-ranging as they expand through the University of Toledo Medical Center including Rupert Clinic, the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the Main Campus.
- Earned Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
- Eligibility for licensure in Ohio
- Successful submission of all required materials
