LGBTQ Issues Conference

The Office of Multicultural Student Success is excited to announce the inaugural LGBTQ Issues Conference at The University of Toledo on Friday, April 12, 2019.

The 2019 LGBTQ Issues Conference will include a keynote luncheon, student research presentations and panels comprised of local activists, artists, faculty, and staff.

Admission to the 2019 LGBTQ Issues Conference will be free for all student presenters and all UT students attending. Admission for community members, faculty, and staff will be $20 per individual.


We welcome oral presentations, video presentations, and poster presentations on all topics involving the LGBTQ community; oral and video presentations will have 15 minutes with additional time for Q&A.

Although the call is open to all topics, we especially encourage submissions on queer and trans relations; Black liberation; Native sovereignties; trans/queer of color critiques and movements; trans and queer feminisms; migration and diaspora; de-colonization; disability and intersex justice.

Please submit your proposal of no more than 500 words here. After submission, receipt of your proposal will be acknowledged via email within three working days. Acceptance or rejections of the proposal will be sent to you with reviewer comments on March 1, 2019.

All student presenters will receive complimentary admission to the 2019 LGBTQ Issues Conference.
