Planning to transfer later?

Steps to take while at your current institution

• Have a plan on what classes you are going to take at current institution and when exactly you would like to transfer to UT
• Be sure to meet with your advisor about classes to ensure that they will transfer to UT and make sure that your advisor knows your plan of transferring
• Use USelect each semester to help you schedule classes that will transfer to UT
• Stay in contact with the UT admission office about when you are planning to transfer
• Visit the UT rep if they make a visit to your current institution
• Visit UT at least a semester before you plan to transfer
• The semester before you are going to transfer, apply early and send an official transcript from every previous institution that you have attended.  It is ok if your current transcript shows classes in progress, we will get the final from you later.
• After your final semester at current institution, be sure to send UT a finalized official transcript
