Study in Southern Africa: Academic Credit Available

Two graduate level courses will be offered in association with this project. Both are in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Toledo. They are

Southern African Political Systems
Southern African Regionalism

Our two courses will build on the readings and interactive experiences required of all participants. The courses will be directed by Professor Weisfelder and conducted on an independent study basis. Each participant's program will be designed to suit his/her academic needs and interests, subject to the approval of the instructor. Those who enroll will typically read additional materials, write an analytic paper, prepare lesson plans and/or design a community oriented project based on their experiences in Southern Africa. The courses will be offered during the summer term although participants may work out an alternative timetable for enrollment during Spring of Fall terms. Course work would typically be completed during Fall 2008, subsequent to our return from Southern Africa.

Applicable University of Toledo fees are required, as is appropriate admission status (either admitted to a graduate program or in "Special Student Status").

Undergraduate independent study credit is also available, if appropriate.

Course credit is optional and is tuition and fees are in addition to other required fees.

Please contact the project director for more information. Richard.Weisfelder@utoledo.edu
