Mr. William P. Schwepe
Mr. Schwepe joined The University of Toledo Department of Music Faculty in the Fall of 2002 following his retirement after thirty years in public school education. The last twenty five years of that time he served as Director of Choral Activities for Fostoria High School in Fostoria, Ohio.
Mr. Schwepe earned both Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Bowling Green State University where he studied with Dr. Ivan Trusler. Other graduate work was completed with Dr. Robert Fountain at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and with Dr. Daniel Moe at Oberlin Conservatory.
Mr. Schwepe is a member of professional organizations such as the National Education Association, the Ohio Education Association, the American Choral Directors’ Association, the Music Educators’ National Conference, the Ohio Choral Directors’ Association, the College Music Society, and the Ohio Music Education Association. He has served as an adjudicator for the OMEA with over thirty years of experience. He also has served two terms as Northwest Region Chairman for the OCDA. Mr. Schwepe is an experienced clinician and guest conductor. He also serves as Chancel Choir director and Music Co-ordinator for First United Methodist Church in Bowling Green, Ohio. Under his direction the UT Women’s Chorus was selected to perform in concert at the 2005 OMEA State Conference held in Cincinnati, Ohio.
