Minor Requirements
A minor in philosophy complements a variety of university majors, and develops the capacity for creative and theoretical thinking. Students may elect to take courses related to their major (e.g., if Biology, take PHIL 3300, "Philosophy of Biology"). All minors in philosophy must meet the following requirements:
- 21 hours in philosophy with a 2.00 GPA
- Philosophy 3210- Ancient and Medieval Philosophy, or 3230-Modern Philosophy.
- At least one course numbered 4000 or above
- Not more than one independent study, PHIL 4920, will count toward the completion of the minor
- Completion of minor must be verified by the department undergraduate advisor
