Grad Student - Ritchey, Adam

Adam
Ritchey

Ph.D. Student
Received B.S. in 2002 from
Case Western Reserve University
Research Interests: Astronomy (Interstellar Matter)
My research focuses on spectroscopic studies of the interstellar medium (ISM). I have examined the interaction taking place in the Pleiades between cluster stars and the surrounding interstellar gas by analyzing optical spectra of atomic and molecular species common to interstellar space (Ca II, Ca I, CH+, CH, and CN). My doctoral thesis involves determining the interstellar abundance of boron which is key to understanding the production and chemical evolution of this light element.
