Dr. Carter Wilson

Professor

Carter has a broad interest in public policy. He teaches undergraduate courses in American National Government, Public Policy, Civil Rights and Race and Public Policy. He teaches the graduate Seminar in Public Policy Theory and Analysis and Quantitative Methods in Decision Making.

His most recent research efforts have focused on urban educational, civil rights and social welfare policies. His most recent article entitled "Policy Regimes and Policy Change," published in the Journal of Public Policy, develops a theory of public policy change. His 1996 book Racism from Slavery to Advanced Capitalism earned the prestigious national Gustava Myers Award for the Study of Human Rights in North America. More recently he is the author of Public Policy.

Dr. Wilson has been involved with a number of community organizations. He is a member of the Interfaith Justice and Peace Committee.
