Welcome to the Department of Theatre and Film!
Students in the Department of Theatre and Film participate in theatre productions both on and back stage, create their own films and videos, travel for arts programs in Study Abroad (Costa Rica, Hungary, London to name a few), participate in special master classes like Steadicam, land internships with organizations such as Disney, Viacom and others. In addition guest artists from all over the world work with students as designers, directors, filmmakers and performers through our international connections.
In this 100th year anniversary of our College and our own 45th anniversary we have a lot to celebrate, and we'll do it with both Style and Substance! Join us for timely Documentary films and for a celebration of the work of director Bob Fosse. Enjoy the results of 50+ sleep deprived students as they create plays out of thin air in the 24 Hour Plays. Experience a wide variety of theatrical styles and genres from Commedia dell Arte (Moliere's The Doctor in Spite of Himself) to Expressionism (Treadwell's Machinal) to Theatre of the Absurd (Ionesco's The Bald Soprano and The Lesson) to Medieval Mystery plays (Creation/Doomsday: Selections from the Chester Cycle.)
