The Student Managed Portfolio invests in large-cap domestic securities within the S&P 500 Index. We also keep a small percentage of the portfolio in cash and cash equivalents. As Student Investment Managers, we perceive ourselves as value investors using “bottom-up” fundamental analysis in the style of John Neff, Warren Buffett and Benjamin Graham. We look primarily at stocks with relatively low Price/Earnings and Price/Book ratios, strong dividend yield, superior relationship of total return to Price/Earnings paid, solid financial statements, and strong long term growth prospects among other factors.
