The Klar Leadership Academy Focus and Competency Development:  The focus of this development process is to provide Klar Academy students with a hands-on, unique, and difference-making learning opportunity so as to expand and develop the following competencies:

  • Ability to THINK BIGGER and create VISION!
  • Skill at achieving goals and delivering desired results
  • Emotional intelligence and interpersonal and teaming skills
  • 360 Degree communication and networking talents
  • Expanded worldview and community service mindset
  • Critical thinking, creativity and innovative thinking skills
  • Confidence to lead others and demonstrate self-leadership
  • Leading change and transformation
  • Ethical decision-making and servant-leader behavior
  • Being coachable and having a mentoring mindset

The Klar Academy Development Vehicles: The Academy will engage a wide variety of learning experiences and methodologies to provide Academy members with a “once in a lifetime” opportunity to rapidly develop their leadership talents. The Academy curriculum will make systematic use of assessments, formal instruction, case studies, high-profile guest speakers, field experiences, panel discussions, mentoring, and community service activities. In addition, Academy members will have the opportunity to participate in both a Fall and Spring Semester “Career Shadow” day with a business leader in their perspective disciplines as part of the experience. Academy participants are required to participate in unique monthly ½ day development sessions as indicated on the schedule below.
