Vice President for Enrollment Management and Online Education
Cam Cruickshank, PhDDr. Cruickshank is the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Online Education. As the chief enrollment officer he is responsible for developing marketing, recruitment, financial aid and retention strategies which support the institutional Strategic Enrollment Management Plan and organizes enrollment management functions to achieve The University of Toledo recruitment and retention goals. As the chief online education officer he is also responsible for leading the UT distance learning strategy, instructional design, faculty and student services, and online learning technology. Prior to serving in this role, Cam served as the chief enrollment officer at Tiffin University, Ivy Bridge College, and Altius Education. At Tiffin University Cam was the Vice President for Enrollment Management with oversight for the recruitment and retention of traditional-aged undergraduate students on the Tiffin Campus; graduate students online; accelerated degree programs online and at the academic centers; and associate degree programs online. During his tenure enrollment increased 128% and annual tuition revenue increased by $20 million. Next, Cam became the Co-Founder and General Manager for Ivy Bridge College, a joint venture between angel investors and Tiffin University. In that role he provided leadership and overall strategic direction for the operation of the online college. Ivy Bridge grew from an idea he shared at lunch meeting in January 2007 to an institution with over 2,500 students and 200 employees in the Fall of 2011. Based on the success of Ivy Bridge College the group of angel investors that funded Ivy Bridge College became Altius Education, a venture-backed company that partners with institutions of higher education to grow online enrollments. There, Dr. Cruickshank served as the Co-Founder and Vice President for Enrollment Operations and was responsible for the recruitment and retention of online students in Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degree programs. He also supervised the Contact Center, Admissions, Financial Aid, Enrollment Operations, Student Accounts, Coaching Services, Disability Services, Advising Services, Administrative Services and Human Resources. Cam has presented dozens of times at prominent enrollment management conferences and workshops. He has also been cited in several articles and higher education publications. Dr. Cruickshank’s post secondary education includes a Bachelor of Science (Biology) from The University of Windsor, a Master of Education (Exercise Science) from Bowling Green State University, a Master of Business Administration from Tiffin University, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Higher Education) from The University of Toledo where his dissertation focused on student retention. |
