Norma J. TomlinsonNorma Tomlinson joined The University of Toledo in 2005, bringing more than 25 years of experience at patient’s bedsides and as a leader in healthcare delivery. Tomlinson, associate vice president and interim executive director for The University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC), responsible for the hospital and clinical operations of the region’s only academic medical. With a full array of provider-based outpatient clinics, UTMC is best known for its specialty care in orthopedics, cardiology, neurology, selected cancers, general surgery and kidney transplantation. Tomlinson was the Chief Nursing Officer, responsible for all Nursing including medical-surgical, critical care, emergency department, level I trauma center/service, rehabilitation unit, hemodialysis, nursing support services, surgical services including child & adolescent unit, school and geriatric psychiatric unit, respiratory, infection control and more. She was also responsible for all physician clinics on two campuses. Prior to joining UTMC, Tomlinson was the vice president of clinical services and chief nursing officer with three other health systems, most recently, as the vice president clinical services and operations and chief nursing officer in Kingsport, Tenn., at Holston Valley Medical Center, the largest hospital in the Wellmont Health System. Tomlinson is a member of the American Organization for Nurse Executives and is presently the co-chair of the NW Ohio Local Program Council for the Midwest Healthcare Executives Group and Associates. For several years, Tomlinson served on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Organization of Nurse Executives and was president of the Akron-Canton Regional Organization of Nurse Executives. She is also the current past president of the Zeta Theta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Tomlinson holds an associate degree in nursing from Purdue University, a bachelor’s of science in nursing from Youngstown State University, and a master’s of science degree in nursing from The University of Akron. Tomlinson is board certified as a nurse executive by the American Nurse’s Credentialing Center and is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. |
