    Leadership and Empowerment

    The Leaders-in-Residence Program 2009-2010
The Leaders in Residence program is a project of the Eberly Center for Women designed to identify and support women's individual and collective leadership in the greater Northwest Ohio region. This year's Leader-in-Residence is the Great Lakes Consortium for International Training and Development (GLC). If you would like to apply for a residency please contact Charlene Gilbert, 419.530.8570 for more information.

The Great Lakes Consortium for International Training and Development (GLC) is a collaborative effort between several academic institutions within NW Ohio: Bowling Green State University (BGSU), The University of Toledo (UT), Lourdes College, and WSOS Community Action Commission, Inc. (WSOS). The mission of the Consortium is to initiate, seek support for, and co-ordinate interneational training and development efforts linking resources with needs in the world community. The GLC is coordinated by Elizabeth Balint who organizes the largest celebration of International Women's Day in NW Ohio. Office Hours: Thursday, 10 am to 2 pm, Phone 419.530.8572, email: glcevents@hotmail.com

The WLF Council representatives are Holly  Monsos, Faculty Administrator; Diane Britton, Faculty; Barbara Mann, Faculty/Lecturer; Vandra Robinson, Member-at-Large, Professional Staff; Sharon Dickerson, Member-at-Large, Support Staff Representative;  University Women’s Commission, Representative, TBA; Christine Smallman, Graduate Student Association and Charlene Gilbert, Director, Center for Women, Convener.   Council elections will be held in Fall 2009.

If you would like to join the WLF email list, please contact 419.530.8570.

    The Women’s Corps
This year the Center for Women will be launching the Women’s Corps, a volunteer program which will be recruiting women to serve as tutors for girls in math and science and as mentors for non-traditional women college students (i.e. older women returning to school, women with children, women working full-time jobs and supporting families.)    If you would like to join the Women’s Corps please call Angela Spoerl at 419-530-8570.
