Leadership and Empowerment
UT Women’s Leadership Forum (WLF)
The Women’s Leadership Forum was founded in 2005 as a vehicle to identify and address
the concerns of UT women. The WLF is open to all staff, faculty, and students with
a commitment to women’s issues at UT. If you would like to join the WLF listserv,
send an email to Veronica Johnson.
The leadership Council for the WLF is an elected body which reports to the Main Campus Provost at least once a semester on issues identified by the WLF. The WLF Council representatives are Holly Monsos, Faculty Administrator, and Barbara Floyd, Alternate; Sharon Barnes, Faculty, and Diane Britton, Alternate; Barbara Mann, Faculty/Lecturer, and Linda Schuller, Alternate; Vandra Robinson, Member-at-Large, Professional Staff, and Diane Docis, Alternate; Sharon Dickerson, Member-at-Large, Support Staff; University Women’s Commission Representative, TBA; Christine Smallman, Graduate Student Association; and Nancy Collins, Co-Convenor, Women's Programming Initiative, HSC.
The Women’s Corps
In the 2009-2010 academic year, we launched the Women’s Corps volunteer program. It
was a huge success. We had more than 100 volunteers utilizing their talents and time
to serve as mentors, tutors and event chairs for our spring art show and collections
drive. These very special individuals donated more than 800 hours of their time to
our programs. We continue to recruit volunteers to serve the women at the University
and in the community.
This Spring will mark a new chapter for the Women's Corps. We will be meeting regularly as a group to network, socialize and most importantly volunteer together. The Corps will meet twice a month, the first time will be on the first Tuesday of each month at 4:30 in the Eberly Center Conference Room, Tucker Hall 0180. This meeting will be a time to discuss as a group volunteer opportunities and get to know each other. We will then be meeting on the last Saturday of the month to volunteer as a group together. Each Saturday we will be serving at a different location.
If you would like to become a part of the Women's Corps, where people are giving back in order to build a stronger Toledo, call the Center at 419.530.8570 or email us.
