The College of Communication and the Arts Emerging Outstanding Alumna for 2013 is Phoebe Ballard. Phoebe is a two time UT graduate, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2000 and an Master of Education in Educational Technology in 2005. Currently, Phoebe is a Senior Instructional Designer with UT Distance Learning.
Phoebe recently won an Exemplary Course Award for her instructional design work for ART 1070:901 - Fundamentals of Digital Media, along with Seder Burns. The course was recognized as a 2013 Blackboard Catalyst Award - Exemplary Course. Not only was the course chosen to receive an Exemplary Course Award but it was also recognized as a Directors Choice for Courses with Distinction.
Phoebe continues to teach part-time in the Departments of Art and Communication. In July of 2013, Phoebe received the Provost's Shining Star Award for her contributions to the University.
