Lecturer: Recreation, Leisure, & Tourism
The Department of Health & Rehabilitative Services in the College of Health Science and Human Service is seeking applications for a nine month, non tenure track, potentially renewable, Lecturer position in Recreation, Leisure, & Tourism starting fall semester 2009. An earned doctorate is preferred, but not required. Qualifications: Masters degree, with at least one degree in recreation and leisure or tourism; and expertise in tourism instruction and curriculum design. Preference will be given to applicants with proven teaching capabilities at the university level.
Responsibilities include: (1) instruction of undergraduate and graduate recreation and leisure courses including: Principles of Travel, Tourism & Event Planning; Community Event Planning; Planning & Promotion of Sport Tourism; and Policy Development & Strategic Planning in Tourism; (2) undergraduate and graduate student advising (tourism); and (3) service on department and division committees.
