The Master's in Recreation Administration is the only degree of its kind in the State of Ohio available entirely online. It is a blend of recreation and tourism courses and offers students the choice of completing a Master’s Internship, Project or Thesis. Many course requirements incorporate experiential learning activities that are parallel to professional employment responsibilities and expectations.
The degree lends itself to many recreation-related professional areas such as: coaching, natural resource management, education, business, outdoor recreation, hospitality management, sports programming and athletics. The program allows for elective hours providing students the opportunity to develop unique plans of study tailored to their current professional needs.
The master’s degree is the typical qualification required in order to advance within an organization. It is also be a stepping stone to doctoral study. This degree will provide current recreation professionals the opportunity to obtain a master’s around their current schedules positioning them for their futures.
It is possible to complete this degree in three semesters (including summer) and students may start in any term. The sample plan of study follows.
