Testing & Praxis Information - professional education

Part of the criteria for admission to Professional Education is to demonstrate mastery of reading, writing, and mathematics skills as evidenced by minimum scores on ONE of the following nationally normed assessments:

a. ACT, as follows

Math - 21; Reading - 21; Writing - 6

b. SAT, as follows

Math - 532; Reading - 543; Essay-Writing - 5

c. Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators (Core) 

    • Mathematics (test code 5732): minimum score 150
    • Reading (test code 5712): minimum score 156
    • Writing (test code 5722): minimum score 162

Yes, the College is partnering with to offer free practice tests.  This will give you an idea of what the exams are like, and give you feedback on your strengths and weaknesses.  If you would like to take the practice tests please contact Assoc. Dean Richard Welsch -
