Meet the Community Health Faculty Members
Timothy R. Jordan, PhD.
Tim Jordan joined the Department of Public Health and Rehabilitative Services in August of 2001. Dr. Jordan is a "home grown" guy with deep roots in the community. In 1981 he received in Bachelor of Science Degree in School Health from Bowling Green State University. From 1982 - 1989, Dr. Jordan worked as a schoolteacher, varsity basketball coach, and Assistant Principal. Tim received both his Masters of Education Degree (1995) and his PhD. degree in Health Education (1996) from The University of Toledo. From 1994-2001, Tim was employed by Mercy Health System as Associate Director of Medical Education. Tim teaches a variety of courses for the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services. At the undergraduate level he teaches, Foundations of Health Education, Death and Dying, Methods and Materials in Community Health, and Health Behaviors. At the graduate level he teaches Health Communication and Health Behaviors. His research interests include adolescent health, program evaluation, gerontology, smoking prevention, and health communication. Tim's hobbies include coaching baseball and softball, rooting for the Rockets, Buckeyes, Browns, and Indians, writing and performing music, and jogging the trails at Wildwood Metro Park. Tim is married and has two children.
