“I have always wanted to be an Army Officer.  That is why I joined Army ROTC here at the University of Toledo.  Through the ROTC program, I have learned to push myself academically and physically in ways I never thought I could before.  ROTC trains me to be a leader both in the military and in civilian life.  When I graduate I will have a great career with endless opportunities.  I also enjoyed my time participating in the Rocket Battalion student activities, such as Ranger Challenge and The Pershing Rifles, where I took part in the color guards at the UT home football games.”

“Through Army ROTC here at the University of Toledo I have gained great friends and had lots of fun.  ROTC is challenging but in a good way.  It forces me to organize and manage my team, which are skills I will use throughout my life.  I hope to gain knowledge about the Army in the program so I can become a better Army Officer.  I love going outside for our leadership labs, where we get to develop ourselves as leaders.  It is a challenge to wake up early for physical training three days a week but I am getting myself physically fit so that I can better myself as a future Army Officer.  I am shocked how many people do not know about the number of benefits and jobs the Army offers.  The ROTC program offers scholarships to take care of college and jobs from communications, to legal and medical fields.  When I talk to the friends I have who’ve graduated from the program and have gone on to be Officers in the Army they all tell me that the program here at UT was challenging but not a day goes by that they don’t look back on it with fond memories and realize it was worth it.”

“I decided to join the Army ROTC program here at the University of Toledo so that I could become an Army nurse.  The Army offers many great opportunities for aspiring nurses.  The benefits and the technology are the best in the world.  Additionally, I will get to serve my country as an Army Officer while traveling the world.  Furthermore, ROTC allowed me to go to Airborne School.  I was surprised to learn how real the people in ROTC were when I joined the program, but through taking a chance and exploring I found a career path I love and a challenging and rewarding experience.”

“I heard lots of wonderful things about the Army ROTC program here at UT from my brother so I decided to explore and see what it was about.  Once I took part in the program, I was hooked.  The classes are hands-on and informative.  The leadership labs allow me to gain great leadership skills even as a Freshman.  The ROTC program takes care of me and encourages me to push for my dream, which is a career in Nursing.  I thought the Rappel lab that we did was the most fun thing I have even done.  I got to jump off the Student Union with nothing but a rope to support me!  The activities here at the ROTC program have allowed me to overcome my fears and complete the tasks given to me.  The people in the program are all friends and there are so many opportunities to take part in extracurricular activities.  I can only describe my experience in the program as one big adrenaline rush!”
