Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC)

Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) is an approach that integrates writing into many courses outside the standard ones of English composition. The Colleges of Languages, Literature, and Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Visual and Performing Arts, and the Honors College are strongly committed to ensuring that their graduates can use writing to acquire new knowledge, and express their ideas in compelling writing. Many of the departments in these four colleges offer writing intensive courses, and undergraduates are required to take a minimum of two in order to graduate. The program is supervised by faculty from all four colleges. These pages, at the link below, are primarily for faculty who want to learn more, and who want to submit a course for approval as a WAC class.
