DNA Genetics Research Lab Technician Opening
University of Toledo Lake Erie Center, DNA Genetics Research Lab Technician, #9962
DNA Genetics Research Lab Technician will assist Dr. Carol Stepien's research projects involving DNA genetics experiments, DNA sequencing, and data analysis. The technician will also supervise graduate and undergraduate research students in conducting molecular biology experiments.
Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- B.A./B.S. in life sciences or molecular biology, genetics, chemistry, or related field
- 0.5-5 years laboratory experience
- Strong organizational skills required
- Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Illustrator software required.
- Familiarity with DNA analytical tools and statistics required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong preference given for a working knowledge of molecular biology and sterile techniques, including PCR, DNA extraction, DNA sequencing.
- Strong preference for genetics analytical skills, including BLAST, DNA alignment, sequence analysis, statistical analysis.
Work Hours Per Week: 40.00
