Chris is responsible for donor stewardship and recognition programs, giving clubs, donor special events, office operations, the Women & Philanthropy program and campaign administrative coordination. She works closely with the vice president and associate vice president in developing strategic plans for university development and cultivation for major donors and external audiences.
Chris has been at The University of Toledo since 1977 and joined the Institutional Advancement team in 1999. She previously worked in the President's Office for 20 years as assistant to four former university presidents (Driscoll, McComas, Stoepler, Horton). She has a B.A. degree from Adrian College in English, Sociology and Teacher Education; an Associate Degree in Administrative Office Technology and a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from The University of Toledo. She attended the Fund Raising School and earned her Certified Fund Raising Manager credentials from Indiana University-Purdue. Her hobbies and interests include hunting, fishing, gardening, planted aquariums, antiques, and gourmet cooking. She has an art studio in her home where she concentrates on hand-crafted greeting cards. Chris is also a Genealogist and specializes in cemetery research in central New York. She has authored several research papers on Cayuga County NY cemeteries and has written four books on her family genealogy.
Chris is also an expert on academic protocol, and is a workshop, seminar leader and consultant on the topics of college and university presidential inaugurations, leadership, teamwork and office organization.
