☻ Course Description:
Designed for non-Chinese speakers who have no prior knowledge of Mandarin, This course covers everyday Chinese language, effective words and sentences for basic communication. Through the Chinese phonetic system, simple conversations, basic vocabulary and sentence patterns, this course provides oral practice related to scenario-based conversations. It also covers Chinese culture and traditions. Pinyin & simplified Chinese characters will be used.
☻ Course Contents:
ⅠBasic Comprehensive Chinese (includes skills of Chinese listening, speaking, reading &writing ; Chinese culture, etc.)
Ⅱ Oral Chinese Practicing
☻ Duration: August 25 to December 10, 2008
Monday & Wednesday 7:00pm ~ 9:00pm
(If a class conflicts with a public holiday, it will be postponed.)
☻ Total contact hours: 60
☻ Classroom: Snyder Memorial, Room 1120B, UT main campus
☻ Instructors: Master teachers from Yanshan University, China, both have the Qualification Certificate of Teaching Chinese As a Foreign Language (Advanced)
☻ Fee: $700 (includes parking permit and all courses texts/materials).
