Easy Steps to Working on Campus

    Student Employment Office

    Seven Steps to Working On-Campus

    Step 1:

1512-A Computer Lab in the Student Union

    8:15am-5:00pm

    Monday-Friday

    419-530-8555

Look at the on-campus job board in the Student Union outside of the OISS office or search the On-Campus Jobs web site called CareerTrak that contains a listing of all available jobs. You will need to log-in the first time you use this system.
    Make sure you click:

    • Jobs and Internships
    • Job Listing Date: All
    • Job type: Part-time
    • Location: Ohio
    • Limit Job Search: Non-work study
Most common places on campus students find jobs: Step 2:
    Apply for the job.
    The Office of Recreation
    AVI Food Services
    The Library
    The Office of Residence Life
    The Office of Accessibility
    Step 3:

    Interview for the position

      Step 4:

Receive the position. The employer will give you an Intent to Hire Form.  This form notifies the OISS office that you have been hired and that your employer intends to hire you.

What happens when I become ineligible to work? Step 5:

If this is your first job on-campus, you will need to make an appointment to see Peter Thomas and bring your passport, I-20, and I-94 in with you for the appointment. Call 419-530-4229.

If you have already completed your first I-9 and get another job on-campus, E-mail Peter Thomas the Intent to Hire Form or bring it to the OISS office to complete a second I-9.  The I-9 verifies if you are eligible to work on-campus.

      Step 6:

Once the I-9 is complete, this document should be given to your employer on-campus.  You may then complete the remainder of paperwork for that position.

      Step 7:
    Commence your employment.
