The Confucius Institute at The University of Toledo (UTCI) was formed through an agreement between The Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) and The University of Toledo in order to support, promote, and develop Chinese language education, and increase mutual cultural understanding amongst the people in China and The United States. Chinese language courses are taught by teachers from China and are designed for students, professionals, and individual personal use and enrichment.
UTCI offers courses for high school and middle school students, and develops Chinese language and culture appreciation programs to enhance the learning experience. Interested area school districts may contact The University of Toledo Confucius Institute for detailed information.
For business professionals, the classes integrate more than just language and are designed to fit conveniently into your busy schedule. Instructors will teach Chinese culture, history, business and Chinese etiquette. You will leave these classes with increased language skills and the ability to comfortably communicate in the global economy putting you ahead in the Chinese marketplace, and helping your company stand out as a leader in intercultural business.
These courses are non-credit courses. If you are interested in learning Chinese and earning college credit, please contact the foreign language department at The University of Toledo.
