Project SEARCH Internship Program

What is Project SEARCH?
Project SEARCH is a high school transition program creating workforce and career development for students with disabilities through immersion in the workplace.
Project SEARCH is a one-year internship program designed to assist high school seniors’ gain and maintain meaningful employment, lead productive lives and become integrated in an adult work environment. Throughout this career preparation experience, continuous feedback and application of new skills occurs at the job setting and in the classroom.
- Students participate in 3 unpaid internship rotations that are each 8 – 11 weeks
- Rotations are designed to compliment each student’s interests, skills and strengths
- Students are given support through on-the-job coaching and work site accommodations with the ultimate goal of independence
Community partnerships supporting this program include Penta Career Center, Lucas and Wood County Board of MR/DD, Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission and the University of Toledo.
