| Office of Academic Access |
Governed by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (non-discrimination) and Americans with Disabilities Act (equal access), works with Main Campus faculty and staff to offer academic accommodations and support services to Main campus students with documented disabilities as defined by ADA. Accommodations and services are determined through an interactive interview process and on a case by case basis. Accommodations/services offered through the office or in conjunction with other offices on campus include: access to adaptive computer software and instruction, advocacy and support, Braille print materials, captioning services, electronic textbooks, testing services, Sign Language Interpreters, speech-to-text services, assistance accessing class notes, Para-transit services eligibility, special housing eligibility, and third party scholarship opportunities. |
| Center for Experential Learning and Career Services |
This center connects students to meaningful learning experiences and assist students with major and career exploration. They offers resources and strategies for developing career plans, choosing a major, preparing for a job search, finding part-time jobs, and identifying internships and full-time career positions. Also assists with resume writing and interview skills. |
| Center for International Studies and Programs | The Center for International Studies and Programs (CISP) supports internationalization efforts at The University of Toledo by creating links among students, faculty and staff, visiting scholars, and the community that foster cross-cultural understanding and appreciation. The Center encourages global citizenship through innovative educational and cultural programming and through student and scholar exchanges, such as study abroad, Camp Adventure, National studnet exchange and Washington Center Internships. |
| Counseling Center | The Counseling Center staff provides counseling (individual and group), mental health and wellness programming, and crisis intervention services to help students cope with the demands of college and to facilitate the development of life adjustment strategies. In addition the Counseling Center staff provides training to graduate students in several disciplines including Clinical Psychology, Counselor Education and Supervision, and Social Work. All trainees are supervised by licensed professionals within, according to the rules and regulations of their discipline. We provide services in accordance with the codes of ethics of the helping professions and standards of the American Psychological Association, American Counseling Association and the International Association of Counseling Services, Inc. as well as to the rules and regulations of the State of Ohio. |
| Military Service Center and Veteran Lounge | Provide service to all veterans to help them achieve your academic goals. |
| New Studnet Orientation | (Rocket Launch / Rocket Transition) — Manages and coordinates the official orientation programs for students attending The University of Toledo. The Office also conducts the Student Convocation, a new freshmen welcome event. |
| Prior Learning Assessment | The University of Toledo allows you to receive college credit for relevant work, volunteer and life experiences through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA). Explore how you may earn college credit for learning outside the traditional classroom. |
| Rocket Solution Central |
If students need to work on course add/drops, billing, financial aid, waiving fees, transcripts, or their student account, the MyUT portal (myut.utoledo.edu) is where students can take care of these things with a few mouse clicks. However, if they need assistance with these online processes, Rocket Solution Central (RSC) is here to help! Studnets can stop by RSC in Rocket Hall Room 1200 or call at 419.530.8700. |
| Student Success, Division of | The Division of Student Success, formerly the UT Learning Collaborative, works to create a richer and more fulfilling academic experience for all students at The University of Toledo. The University has regrouped existing services and programs in order to help guide students to be purposeful in planning their academic career. |
| Supplemental Instruction | A program designed to help students succeed when they are enrolled in entry-level, academically demanding courses. SI is open to all students enrolled in the course and is available at no extra cost to the students. |
| Tutoring - Learning Enhancement Center |
Provides walk-in tutoring, supplemental instruction (peer-led study sessions for targeted courses), and study strategies workshops to all UT students. Studnets can take advantage of free tutoring in science, math, business and foreign languages. Online tutoring is also available in math, statistics, biology and accounting; students can post questions or log-on for synchronous tutoring. Study strategie workshop availabe upon request. |
| Writing Center | Provides one-to-one assistance to all UT students who want to discuss and improve their writing. Writers develop writing skills best when they are in a supportive environment surrounded by other writers who seek to encourage clear expression of ideas. The Center will help students learn to use the vocabulary, organization and format specific to the academic discipline in which they are writing. |
