Women & Philanthropy host garden celebration

Members of Women & Philanthropy at The University of Toledo got a detailed view of what their support has meant to the UT Outdoor Garden Classroom.

In2009 the organization awarded a grant for more than $10,000 to fund the garden and now that it is up and growing, members of Women & Philanthropy hosted an event to take a look.

The garden celebration was held on Wednesday, June 23,  2010 in the UT Outdoor Garden Classroom on West Towerview Boulevard across from the Law Center.

“Women & Philanthropy embraced the Outdoor Garden Classroom as an opportunity for the UT community to learn more about the art and science of urban gardening,” said Lynnette Werning, treasurer of the organization and president of Blue Water Communications. “The seeds we planted by funding this grant will nourish students for years to come.” (Read more in the UT News by clicking link in the title.)
