Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) Program
Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences
Welcome to The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences Introductory to Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) Program’s Informational Page.
The fundamental goals of IPPE’s are to provide students experiences and interactions with health care consumers, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other health care providers in community and institutional settings. Under appropriate supervision students start to develop their knowledge and skills regarding dispensing functions and regulations and start to develop clinical skills through direct patient care activities in institutional and community pharmacy settings. In addition, students gain exposure to different practice settings and career options. In order to facilitate this, each P1 student will be assigned to a community IPPE site at which they will earn a minimum of 120 hours over the P1 and P2 years. During the P3 year, students will be assigned IPPE sites where they will earn a minimum of 80 hours. Specific details regarding expectations and assignments as students progress from P1 to P3 years will be provided at the beginning of each semester of the IPPE course series.
In order to fulfill the ACPE requirements, all students will complete the following types of hours: Community, Institutional, Service, Reflections, Clinical Shadowing, Kroger Wellness, and Elective.
- IPPE Manual
- PharmD Program Immunization Requirements
- Health Data Form P2 to P4
- IPPE Elective Hours Affidavit
