Welcome to Apple Tree Nursery School Online!
A Message From The Director, Sherry Roush
Our non-profit child care center has provided care to the University community since 1974 and nationally accredited care since 1994. Apple Tree is located on the main campus of the University of Toledo.
Childhood is an important stage of human development and at Apple Tree, it is celebrated. Apple Tree children experience responsive settings that promote enjoyment and safe, stimulating exploration. Our professional teaching staff is made up of individuals with either an associates or bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. Every staff member is certified in CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Recognition and Prevention, and Common Childhood Illnesses. In addition, they are required to continue their education annually through in-service training in child development or early childhood education. Our center maintains a child-centered, play based approach to support children at varying developmental levels while we encourage them to grow and learn in new ways. Please read on and learn more about the opportunities that await you and your family at the Apple Tree Nursery School.
NEW!
Please check out our new menu titles: Recipes from the Kitchen where you will find a few of the menu items from our center lunch menus. In addition, Forms:Print and Return will be a place for you to find forms we hand out up front so that you can print them off and return them to us in order to save some space on your sign in and out sheets. March and April's edition of Your Child's Development have been added to that menu title as well.

Thursday, March 18th is Absolutely Incredible Kid Day
Every child deserves to know how special he or she is. That’s why we are asking families to take a simple step that can make a lasting and positive impact on your child: write a loving letter to your child on Absolutely Incredible Kid Day. Tell him/her how special and important they are. This day is for all adults who want to let any child know how special they are. It is held every third Thursday in the month of March. We are asking that you use any special paper to write a letter to your child. Fold the letter, seal it with a sticker or place it in an envelope. Don’t tell your child about the letter so they will be surprised. Send your letter back to school by Tuesday, March 16th so that we can hand them out on Thursday the 18th. All families are encouraged to do this no matter what age your child is. Your child’s teacher will read these to the younger children and if your child is able to read then imagine how exciting it would be to read a letter from someone that loves them. Your cooperation on this day will help promote reading as well as letting your child know how important they are! Please print when writing your letters. Don’t forget: Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, or anyone else can write to a child! We will have a table set up in our conference room starting Monday March 8th for anyone that would like to write their letters after they drop their children off. Thank you for your cooperation. The children will just love these letters!!!!
