The Parks Student Organization Awards at The University of Toledo were created in memory of Donald S. Parks, who served as UT’s Dean of Students for an esteemed twenty-one years. Park’s contributions have enabled the Division of Student Affairs to honor and recognize outstanding students and registered student organizations that have excelled in leadership and academics and made positive contributions to the greater university community.
Donald S. Parks was an outstanding campus administrator and community member. He served the University of Toledo for 40 years and was the Dean of Men and the Dean of Students from 1934 to 1953. Parks residence hall is named for Mr. Parks. He was a teacher, exemplar, and friend, faithful to the lessons of the past and responsive to the crisis of the present, hopeful toward new horizons promised by the future.
Funds established in Parks’ name are dedicated to advancing and celebrating student organizations success at UT. Each year the Donald S. Parks Student Organization Recognition Night, a banquet and recognition ceremony, takes place to celebrate the achievements and milestones of The University of Toledo’s student organizations.
