    Getting Started

    How do I qualify as a Post-Secondary student at The University of Toledo?

    You must be a high school student in grades 9-12 and met the following requirements:

    •  9th Grade Requirements - must have a 3.5 GPA (based on Eighth Grade report card).
      Only one course can be taken per semester.
    • 10th Grade Requirements - must have a 3.5 GPA
      Only one course can be taken per semester.
    • 11th Grade Requirements - must have a 3.4 GPA and either a 25 ACT, or rank in the top third of his/her class may attend full-time if high school schedule permits
    • 12th Grade Requirements - must have a 3.2 GPA and either a 25 ACT, or rank in the top third of his/her class may attend full-time if high school schedule permits.
    • Requirements for all grades - must pass all portions of your ninth grade proficiency test. (If you are not a U.S. citizen and/or an Ohio resident you may incur an out-of-state surcharge. Please call Jennifer Kwiatkowski in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 419.530.5718 with any questions regarding admissions.)
                                               

    What do I do first?

    • Get information about the program from your high school guidance counselor the school year before you want to participate in the program.
    • Discuss the program with your parents and get their permission to participate.
    • Register with your high school as a post-secondary student by the March 30th deadline.
    • Complete the University of Toledo Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Application form and submit it to the University of Toledo Office of Undergraduate Admissions with a current, official high school transcript showing Ninth Grade Proficiency Test results, and ACT/SAT results (if you have taken the ACT or the SAT).
                                           

    What happens next?

    You will receive an acceptance letter from the University of Toledo, followed shortly by an orientation mailing from the PSEOP advising office. If you have not received an orientation mailing within 2 weeks of receiving your acceptance letter, please call the PSEOP advising office at 419.530.1250.                                                                                        

    What classes can I take?

    For the first term at the University of Toledo you may take most 1000 or 2000 level classes for which you meet the prerequisites listed in the college catalog.
    You must have a 3.0 GPA in the high school subject area to enroll in that subject area at the University of Toledo.
