If a nonpublic student participates in PSEOP under option B, who is responsible for the cost?

Will The University of Toledo send final grades from courses taken to the high schools at the end of each semester?

Yes. By state law, UT is required to send final grades for each student to their high school at the end of each semester.

    topˆ

Will PSEOP pay for room and board at The University of Toledo?

No. Only those costs for tuition, textbooks, and material directly related to the course may be funded through PSEOP. In some cases, depending on financial need, transportation costs may be reimbursed; but room and board, in necessary, are the responsibility of the student/parent.

    topˆ

Will The University of Toledo send a mid-term grade to the student?

No. UT does not send out mid-term grades. If a student desires to know their grade at anytime during the semester, the instructor/professor must be contacted by the student.

    topˆ

Can a student take night classes or distance learning classes?

Yes. Students who meet the criteria necessary to participate are not limited to the hours of the official school day for scheduling college courses.

    topˆ

Are PSEOP students eligible for financial aid?

No. Students participating in PSEOP are not eligible for additional financial support.

    topˆ

Who is responsible for intervention if a student fails a college course being taken for college credit?

Students participating in PSEOP, together with their parents, must be aware of and understand the social and academic consequences of participation. Any necessary intervention may be, but is not required to be, provided by the home school district.

    topˆ

What happens when a student transfers into a new high school district after the March 30 deadline?

The district superintendent has the authority to allow students, on an individual basis, to participate in the program after March 30.

    topˆ

Are students who are "Home Schooled" eligible for PSEOP?

Students who are home schooled should contact the Area 3 State Coordinator's Office at 419.523.5088 to determine eligibility.

    topˆ

Can a student who is enrolled in PSEOP on a full-time basis participate in high school athletics?

Yes. As long as the student is meeting state and local scholastic requirements, the student may participate in high school athletics.

    topˆ

Who owns the textbooks that are provided by the post-secondary institution for students participating under option B?

The books belong to the post-secondary institution. All textbooks must be returned to the PSEOP office during finals week of the semester that the student is taking classes. Failure to do so will result in the student being billed for the cost of all textbooks used.

    topˆ

Once I have registered for classes at UT, where and when can I receive books?

Books can be purchased at any of the three UT bookstores by using the students ID card. The ID card is activated one week prior to the beginning of a semester through the end of the second week of the semester. If students must purchase books off campus, receipts are to be given to your PSEOP Adviser with the name and SSN of the student written on the receipt. Students will be reimbursed for the price of the book only.
